Grassy Waters Preserve is a 23 square mile wetlands ecosystem that serves as the freshwater supply for the City of West Palm Beach and the towns of South Palm Beach and Palm Beach Island. Historically, Grassy Waters was both a key component of the Greater Everglades watershed and the headwaters of the Northwest Fork of the Loxahatchee River. map

Since its founding in 1941, The Norton Museum of Art has grown and evolved to become one of Florida's major cultural institutions. The Museum is internationally known for its distinguished permanent collection featuring American Art, Chinese Art, Contemporary Art, European Art and Photography. 6. Palm Beach Dramaworks
Palm Beach Dramaworks is a professional not-for-profit theatre company that engages and entertains audiences with provocative and timeless productions that personally impact each individual. Take a gander at their 2014-2015 season...I checked it out - everything from Zorba the Greek to a Sam Shepard play.
7. Flagler Museum
When it was completed in 1902, the New York Herald proclaimed that Whitehall, Henry Flagler's Gilded Age estate in Palm Beach, was "more wonderful than any palace in Europe, grander and more magnificent than any other private dwelling in the world." Today, Whitehall is a National Historic Landmark and is open to the public as the Flagler Museum, featuring guided tours, changing exhibits, and special programs. Come and remember the Guilded Age. They also do great events throughout the year - Easter, Xmas, 4th of July. map
8. Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens
'The gardens contain monumental sculptures built directly in the gardens, for the gardens, which invoke mystery and surprise as you happen upon them while walking through rare palms. Rarely are we able to see such an idyllic completed picture of an artist’s vision in its true and intended surroundings. The garden, designed in concert with Sir Peter Smithers, was the last part to Ann Weaver Norton’s concept for her work, her legacy. The garden represents her commitment to conservation and the preservation of a quiet retreat in the midst of high rises.' map
9. Apoxee Wilderness Trail
In the wet prairies and tropical hammocks of Apoxee Park, the first urban wilderness area in Palm Beach County, you’ll walk over and through the water supply of West Palm Beach. A fascinating 4.7-mile day hike showcasing the sheet flow of water through habitats that thrive in humidity and dampness, the Apoxee Wilderness Trail features a mix of boardwalks, crushed limestone, and natural surfaces underfoot on a loop that includes a section of the Owahee Trail, a lengthy berm that runs through all of Grassy Waters Preserve. 10. Rapids Water Park
Come to Rapids Water Park and cool off - check out the "biggest" rides, the "coolest" rides, and the "wettest" rides. A family event and a day of fun. They are open weather permitting so check the storm systems before you go. map
11. City Place
City Place is the premier destination in Palm Beach County, located in the center of Downtown West Palm Beach. It offers a mix of over 80 national stores, specialty shops, restaurant and entertainment venues.
